Salkantay Trail to Machu Picchu is a new division of Manu Explorers Peru, focused only on leading Salkantay Treks to Machu Picchu. Manu Explorers Peru is a travel company specialized in providing tours to the jungle of Manu National Park and is now expanding to provide Salkantay treks to Machu Picchu. Since we began leading tours into the jungle of Manu National Park we have heard bad reviews from tourist regarding their experience on the Salkantay trek. Our goal is to increase the standard in serve for groups on the Salkantay trek.
We strive to provide the best service available to our customers so we are officially starting to operate Tours to Machu Picchu by Salkantay Trail on March 2012.

A great trip where you really got to experience the jungle for real, our guide was the best at spotting different animals and knowing their behavior, and was very concerned about our safety .The cook was really excellent and we were well fed. On my birthday he even managed to cake in the middle of the jungle.

Great adventure !Great guide ,he was the best !all the staff give us a really good experience of the jungle.The boat trips was really exciting when we tried to stop different animals ,birds ,caiman etc,The lodge is what you can expect of the jungle ,basic but really good.You should bring a camara with a good zoom,so you can take good photos distance the guide gave us all the information we needed to be safe in the jungle .Great knowledge of animals and the behaviors .This a trip you can really should do it ,you have a time

Carlos was fantastic! His knowledge of all the species of plants, animals and history was vast .Most important,he has ability to communicate that knowledge at an extremely high level .I d highly recommend him to anyone interested in tours Manu. Agustin was amazing in the kitchen .I did not expect to eat as well as medio .I particularly liked that he featured specialties of the jungle such as juane .Everything was fresh and delicious.

Had a fantastic time on this trip, Carlos our guide know so much about everything and the food was amazing. My favorite past was when a troop of over so common squirrel monkeys passed by us .There were monkeys everywhere we looked .It is something .I will never forget .Definitely recommend this tour.

My friends and I had an amazing time on the 7 day tour into the reserved zone of Manu National Park. I have been travelling for three months and this trip was by far and away the highlight for me. Our guide Alci was outstanding. She was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable as well as being able to spot every insect from half a mile away. Manu Explorers have clearly done their research on the best routes to take and the best times to visit certain areas. Blanca was the name of our cook and her food was absolutely superb! Her and Alci made us all feel very comfortable and ensured that we had the best time possible.
I would highly recommend Manu Explorers as a great Company to book through.

Just done the 7 day 6 nights Manu tour by bus in November and it was amazing! Very, very informative and useful guide who clearly knew a huge amount about the jungle and could use this to find some amazing animals and birds for us to get the chance to see. Although there is a lot of travelling over land for this tour it is very interesting travel mostly as within a few hours from Cuzco by coach you are already in the cloud forest. The lodges which we stayed in were all great and the food which was prepared for all our meals was amazingly good!! (Never had the same thing twice!) This tour is a lot of money, but well worth it!

Hallo Wilbert, I want to thank you very much for the wonderful travel to Manu with your company. My friend Hilke and I really enjoyed the three days in the Manu National Park. But you were right, 3 days are to short for this great experience. So the next time we will book a 9 days tour.
The guide Darwin was an excellent enthusiastic guide, who was not content until we have not seen so many animals and his knowledge about the Selva and its animals and plants was enorm. So I think he was a very competent guide.
Fernando was really an excellent driver and in some difficult situations on the street he reacted very calm and competent. The cook was very nice and we enjoyed her home cooked meals. So all in all we enjoyed our exclusive travel and were sad that it was much too short.

This trip was incredible. It was one of the most intense experiences of my life. I have never been so close to nature and for me this trip was a dream come true.
The guides were very informed and explained everything there was to know about this environment. They were good friends along the way and not only did they explain a lot, but we had a lot of fun together.
I would recommend this trip to everyone that once wants to experience this unique habitat of the rainforest!
The tour was not at all commercial, as we feared a little bit, that we would be driven from one marketplace to the other and have to buy souvenirs everywhere, but on the contrary. we were far off all people, civilization and stress.
